It’s about time to put biodiversity loss besides climate change at the heart of our sustainability strategies.
Together with Michael Frik from Mercedes I had the pleasure to speak about how to strategically approach biodiversity and circularity in the automotive industry. In addition to some great solutions that have been presented during the conference, there are still a number of challenges that need to be overcome:
🚧 The right biodiversity indicators, data, and traceability to guide future product design
🚧 Availability of secondary material and a sufficient recycling infrastructure
🚧 Viable business models across the whole value chain
🚧 Clarity in the legislative landscape
🚧 Design for circularity competencies
We see these challenges as a great opportunity to design better products for humanity and the planet in the future.
