Complementary balance - why COALAXY was founded
In practice, ecological and social goals are usually not sufficiently prioritized over economic goals. This leads to an imbalance. Science, society and politics are initiating a rethink. But regulation alone is not (fast) enough to restore the balance. Humanity needs visionary entrepreneurs who recognize the opportunity for sustainable innovation and business models, set ambitious eco-social goals and thus make a voluntary contribution to greater sustainability. We call this self-reinforcing target system “complementary balance.”

- Ambition gap: Gap of approx. 20 gigatons CO₂ in 2030 to stay below 1,5° C.
- Risks: Climate, resource, cost-of-living-, biodiversity crisis, etc.

- Legislation: Regulation is tightening but is not fast enough on its own.

Our journey – what COALAXY means to us
Hiking in intact ecosystems, skiing on natural snow, swimming in a clean ocean, enjoying the sun and rain in the open air – these carefree childhood memories are no longer a matter of course. With various technologies and processes, mankind has contributed to the fact that we now have to fight with all the means at our disposal to maintain our ecosystems in the future.

„More than 20 years of experience in innovation and product development have taught me that the majority of our companies are still primarily driven by economic interests. Due to current crises and short-term pressure on results, ecological and social factors that are crucial for future viability are usually neglected. It is my firm conviction that an ecological and social focus and economic success are two sides of the same coin. The people involved often just lack the right approach and the pioneering mindset to create a promising ecological, social and economic balance for sustainable, circular companies. After all, sustainable, forward-looking companies secure the economic basis of our society.
As a board member of an NGO in the areas of sustainable education for children and young people, forest protection and ecosystem restoration, I was able to learn which levers are crucial for securing the well-being of humanity and our planet. In the process, I became increasingly aware of the complexity of the connections between and within the political, social and private sector systems for mitigating the consequences of the current multiple crisis landscape. In my view, overcoming this crisis landscape is possible through intensive, targeted collaboration between the various systems using holistic strategic approaches and ways of thinking as well as sustainable circular innovations.
As a father of three children, I feel the growing responsibility and desire to do everything I can to ensure that our planet remains livable. With years of consulting experience, a passion for preserving the uniqueness of our planet and a desire to design solutions to manage or mitigate existing problems and risks, COALAXY was the only logical choice for me. In case you were wondering, COALAXY is the acronym for “COmplementary bALAnce aCCelerating sustainabilitY”, i.e. accelerating the transformation to a sustainable circular economy by means of a self-reinforcing balance of ecological, social and economic goals.
